BARMM workers get P10K allowance for Ramadhan
ZAMBOANGA CITY — The Bangsamoro Government has issued a new Administrative Order (AO) granting a one-time Special Ameliorative Measure (SAM) allowance to qualified officials and employees, aimed at assisting their families with expenses during this year’s Ramadhan observance.
Bangsamoro Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua signed AO No. 0001, s. 2025, on Thursday, which grants a P10,000 SAM allowance to all Bangsamoro government employees.
Under the AO, BARMM employees holding permanent, temporary, co-terminus, or casual positions who are currently serving the BARMM government, as well as those who have served until 28 February are eligible to receive the P10,000 SAM allowance.
Contract of Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) personnel will be subject to compliance with paragraph (b), Section 2 of the Order, which specifies the availability of funds.
The Ministry of Finance, Budget and Management (MFBM) may also issue supplemental guidelines to ensure the effective implementation of the AO.
“The rise in commodity prices during Ramadhan affects not only Muslims observing the fast but also the general population of BARMM,” CM Macacua said.
“Granting the allowance to employees of the Bangsamoro Government will help mitigate the financial burden faced by BARMM workers, particularly those in lower income brackets, during this period,” Macacua said in his memo.
The AO stipulates that all requests for the release of funds must be submitted on or before 28 March. The release of the SAM allowance to the BARMM ministries, offices and agencies (MOAs) is expected to take place on or before 15 April.
Macacua issued AO No. 0001 in accordance with the Bangsamoro Transition Authority Parliament Resolution No. 671.
