The local government of Manila has expressed gratitude to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the inclusion of all job order (JO) and contract of service (CoS) personnel in the gratuity pay this year.
During a brief message at the regular flag-raising ceremony held at the Manila City Hall on Monday morning, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna also thanked all city officials and employees for another year of dedicated, honest and genuine service to the city and the people of Manila.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude for another year of your faithful and genuine service,” the mayor said.
“As we always say, everyone is important here in the city of Manila. Christmas is for everyone, so I am happy to announce that our President has included our job order and contractual employees among those who will receive gratuity pay this year. I am very happy for you,” she added.

To recall, Marcos approved an increase in gratuity pay for contractual and JO workers in the government, raising the amount up to P7,000. The increase will take effect no earlier than 15 December 2024.
According to Administrative Order 28 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, President Marcos said JOs and CoS employees who have rendered a total or aggregate of at least four months of actual satisfactory service performance as of 15 December 2024, are entitled to the gratuity pay from P5,000 to P7,000.
