Coupang Play and Prime Video have unveiled the official trailer for the highly anticipated South Korean romantic-comedy zombie series Newtopia, starring Blackpink’s Jisoo and Park Jeong-Min.

Set against the backdrop of a sudden zombie apocalypse, the series follows the story of ex-lovers Jae-Yoon (Park Jeong-Min), a soldier, and Young-Joo (Jisoo).

After their breakup, Young-Joo regrets her decision and tries to reunite with Jae-Yoon. However, her journey to rekindle their love becomes a perilous adventure as she faces the undead and navigates the chaos of a collapsing world.

Newtopia is directed by Yoon Sang-Hyun, known for critically acclaimed films like Bleak Night (2010) and Time to Hunt (2020). The series is co-written by Han Jin-Won, the Academy Award-winning co-writer of Parasite (2019), and Ji Ho-Jin, known for A Shop for Killers.

The series marks Jisoo’s second leading role in a K-drama, following her portrayal of Eun Yeong-Ro in Snowdrop.

Newtopia is set to premiere on 7 February on South Korean streaming platform Coupang Play and globally on Prime Video.
