Quezon, Nueva Ecija — Authorities here reported that a suspected member of an insurgency group surrendered to the Nueva Ecija Police last 2 January 2025.
Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO) director Police Col. Ferdinand D. Reports said that Ka Jerry was a former member of Damayan ng Mamamayan Para sa Kaapihan at Kahirapan under the Alyansa ng Magbubukid sa Gitnang Luzon-Nueva Ecija and KLG Caraballo Sentro De Grabidad. He was recruited by Nicomedez Ortiz in 2015.
During his surrender, Ka Jerry voluntarily turned over one caliber .38 Smith and Wesson revolver with a defaced serial number, along with three live rounds of .38 caliber ammunition.
Ka Jerry is currently undergoing debriefing with the 1st PMFC.
“NEPPO’s commitment to end local terrorism remains steadfast. We will continue to not only strengthen peace and order in the province but also address the threats posed by these local terrorist groups,” Geronimo said.
