Ex-rebel surrenders to Nueva Ecija police

A former member of a Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) voluntarily surrendered to authorities this morning at the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) Headquarters, Brgy. San Juan, San Jose City, Nueva Ecija on 14 January 2026.

According to Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO) Provincial Director Police Col. Heryl Bruno, the former CTG member is identified as Ka Arnel, a 69-year-old farmer and resident of Talatalan at Brgy. San Agustin, Carranglan, Nueva Ecija.

Ka Arnel was a former Semi-Legal Officer under the Josefino Corpuz Command, operating in the province. He turned over one homemade caliber .22 revolver and five live ammunition rounds during the surrender.

The surrender was facilitated by 2nd PMFC NEPPO (lead unit), together with San Jose CPS, Lupao MPS, Llanera MPS, Rizal MPS, Pantabangan MPS, Sto. Domingo MPS, Licab MPS, Quezon MPS, Guimba MPS, Cuyapo MPS, PIU-NEPPO, NICA3, 303rd MC RMFB3, RIU3, IOS RID3, 84th IB 7ID PA, 91st IB 7ID PA, and 21SAC-2SAB.
