The Department of Agriculture is set to launch its three core projects: the Philippine Rural Development Project Scale-Up, the Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Project, and the Philippine Fisheries and Coastal Resiliency, which launched on 6 November.
The Launch will serve as a venue to present the projects to partner stakeholders: the local government units, the private sector, media, and beneficiaries and to mark the official start of the implementation of the three projects of the department.
With the financing made possible through the DA's partnership with the World Bank, the three projects will focus on organizing and clustering farmer and fisherfolk associations and indigenous peoples organizations engaged in agri-fishery activities, consolidating their produce to attain economies of scale, reinvigorating collaboration with the private sector for better market linkage and technology access, and sustaining partnership with the local government units for a more aligned national and local priorities in agriculture development.
It will also highlight the accomplishments and impact of the original PRDP, where the three projects build from the positive transformations in rural development and the agri-fisheries sector transformation.
The Department will also showcase its projects and will have an exhibit to explore and display a wide range of products and services. This occasion is a platform to foster new collaborative opportunities with the Department.
Under the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the DA is set to expand and intensify its endeavors to fulfill the vision of a competitive and efficient agricultural sector.
Six hundred participants from its key stakeholders nationwide are expected to grace the momentous event.
