Six arrested in five anti-drug operations in Pangasinan

Six people were arrested in five separate anti-drug operations in Pangasinan from Thursday afternoon to early Friday, October 9, with police seizing a total of 6.11 grams of suspected shabu valued at P41,348.

The operations resulted in the arrest of a 37-year-old truck driver in Sta. Barbara; a 32-year-old construction worker and a 28-year-old unemployed man in separate operations in Dagupan City; two unemployed women aged 28 and 24 in Calasiao; and a 19-year-old unemployed man in Mangaldan.

Police seized 2.3 grams of suspected shabu valued at P15,640 from the truck driver during a buy-bust operation in Sta. Barbara at around 2:20 p.m. on October 8.

In Dagupan City, a 32-year-old construction worker was arrested near Pamana Pump Station No. 4 in Barangay Salisay 1 at around 9:21 p.m. on October 8. Police reportedly recovered 1.5 grams of suspected shabu valued at P10,200.

Another 1.5 grams of suspected shabu, also valued at P10,200, was seized from a 28-year-old unemployed man during a separate buy-bust operation in Dagupan City shortly after midnight on October 9.

Meanwhile, two women from San Carlos City were arrested in Calasiao after a buy-bust operation that began at around 11 p.m. on October 8. Police recovered 0.4 grams of suspected shabu valued at P2,720.

In Mangaldan, a 19-year-old unemployed man was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the municipal police from 2 a.m. to 3:40 a.m. on October 9. Police seized 0.41 gram of suspected shabu valued at P2,788.

The operations were carried out by personnel from the Sta. Barbara Municipal Police Station, Dagupan City Police Office, Calasiao Municipal Police Station and Mangaldan Municipal Police Station. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 1 coordinated with authorities in the Dagupan and Mangaldan operations.

Aside from the suspected illegal drugs, police confiscated marked money, imitation bills allegedly used as boodle money, and two motorcycles, including a black Moto Posh Pinoy 155 with sidecar in Calasiao and a black-and-violet Rusi 125 in Dagupan.

Police said the seized evidence was inventoried and marked at the respective arrest sites in the presence of the suspects and mandatory witnesses, as required by law.

The suspects are expected to face charges for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
