Operatives from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) recovered a reported stolen 2024 Mitsubishi Montero in Mandaluyong City after tracking the vehicle through automated traffic enforcement records.

The owner of the vehicle approached the district’s Anti-Carnapping Unit on 17 September to report that he had entered into a deed of sale with an assumption of mortgage agreement with an individual known only as “Alex.”

According to police reports, “Alex” failed to meet the agreed payment terms and conditions, prompting the vehicle owner to request that law enforcement place the SUV on official alarm status.

During the follow-up investigation, anti-carnapping officers discovered that the vehicle had recently logged a Non-Contact Apprehension Program traffic violation in Makati City.

Further intelligence indicated the SUV was in the possession of a local medical professional.

Investigating officers subsequently located the vehicle parked outside a veterinary hospital along Primo Cruz Street in Mandaluyong City.

A veterinarian at the scene told police she had purchased the vehicle from “Alex” in May 2026 for P650,000.

The doctor voluntarily surrendered the vehicle to officers for proper documentation and turnover to its legal owner.

Police said they are continuing their investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the illegal transfer and to identify any additional suspects involved in the scheme.
