  • President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. celebrates his 69th birthday Sunday, 13 September, with the Palace wishing him good health, protection and the fulfillment of his aspirations for the nation.

Palace press officer and Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro extended the PCO’s birthday message to Marcos, highlighting his continuing travels abroad as he seeks investments for the country.

“The PCO wishes the President good health and to be always guided and protected by the Lord, as he travels the globe to seek investments for our kababayans,” Castro said.

“As he works diligently, we also wish that all his aspirations for the nation come to fruition,” she added.

Castro also wished the President safe journeys as he continues to travel in pursuit of foreign investments.

Incidentally, Marcos’ father, former President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos Sr., was born on 11 September 1917, in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte.

The younger Marcos commemorated his father’s birthday on Friday through a series of activities in Batac City, Ilocos Norte.

Marcos attended a Thanksgiving Mass at the Immaculate Conception Parish before proceeding to the Daytoy Ti Bannawag Monument, also known as the Marcos Monument, where he led a wreath-laying ceremony honoring his late father.

In remembering his father, Marcos described him as the person from whom he learned the “most important lessons of life.”

“My father from whom I learnt the most important lessons of life. Who taught me to value Duty, Honour and Country. To live for others and not oneself. Happy Birthday Dad,” Marcos said in a message.

The President also spoke about his father’s connection to Ilocos Norte and the people of the province during the wreath-laying ceremony.

“He loved this place, he loved his fellow Ilocanos. More than that, he loved his fellow Filipinos and he loved his country, to which he devoted his life,” Marcos said.
