The Bureau of Customs has rolled out dedicated X-ray lanes for overseas Filipino workers at key international airports to speed up and streamline customs processing for returning and departing workers.

The initiative is being implemented at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminals 1 and 3 and Clark International Airport, where designated lanes are available for OFWs undergoing customs inspection and baggage examination.

The BOC said the dedicated lanes are intended to improve passenger flow, reduce waiting time and provide OFWs with a more organized customs experience while maintaining compliance with existing laws and procedures.

Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said the bureau plans to expand the initiative to other international airports and passenger terminals.

“We recognize the important contribution of our OFWs, hindi lamang sa kanilang mga pamilya kundi pati na rin sa ating bansa. Through these dedicated X-ray lanes, gusto nating gawing mas mabilis, maayos, at convenient ang kanilang pagdaan sa Customs. Layunin nating palawakin pa ang initiative na ito sa iba pang international gateways para mas maraming OFWs ang makinabang sa mas maayos na serbisyo,” Nepomuceno said.

The BOC said the broader rollout is aimed at making the service more accessible to OFWs across the country.
