The Bureau of Customs (BoC) collected P664.776 billion from January to August 2026, its highest collection for the first eight months of any year, according to its preliminary report.

The amount exceeded the bureau’s P659.309 billion target by P5.467 billion and was 7 percent higher than the P621.387 billion collected during the same period last year.

For August alone, the BoC collected P81.361 billion, up 5.1 percent from P77.346 billion in August 2025, but slightly below its monthly target.

Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno attributed the performance to the continued work of BoC personnel despite weather disturbances and work suspensions.

“This year’s performance reflects the commitment of our people to deliver, even in the face of challenges. Sa kabila ng weather disturbances at work suspensions, our collection districts remained focused on their mission,” Nepomuceno said.

He said the bureau would continue focusing on compliance, accurate valuation and declaration, enforcement and cooperation with the trading community to sustain revenue collections.

Nepomuceno thanked BoC personnel and partner industries and stakeholders for their cooperation and support.
