The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Clark Development Corp. (CDC) opened the WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026 competition Monday at the SMX Convention Center Ballroom.

TESDA Secretary Kiko Benitez and CDC president and CEO Agnes VST Devanadera led the ceremonial unveiling, officially launching the national competition aimed at strengthening workforce readiness and supporting investor confidence.

Devanadera welcomed delegates and competitors, emphasizing how technical training complements formal education to ensure employability. She noted that Clark hosts more than 1,200 locators and 151,000 workers, with TESDA programs helping align local workforce capabilities with industry needs.

Officials cited that the event reinforces the country’s standing as an investment destination and highlighted upcoming community benefits from the planned TESDA Innovation Center in Clark, which will offer accessible training for local residents.
