For many graduates, earning a college degree has long been viewed as the first step toward career success. But in today’s evolving workforce, a diploma alone may no longer guarantee opportunities.

With more college-educated Filipinos entering the unemployed workforce, young professionals face the challenge of developing skills that match the demands of a rapidly changing job market. The question now is not only what career path to pursue, but how to remain valuable in it.

This was the focus of Enderun Colleges’ annual Founders’ Talk, where graduating students from the Class of 2026 joined Lead Founder Jack Tuason and Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer Danny Perez for a conversation on career growth, leadership, and long-term success.

One key message stood out: passion alone may not be enough.

While many are encouraged to “follow their passion,” Tuason urged students to look beyond a single interest and instead identify strengths they can continue improving. Building a lasting career, he said, requires a willingness to learn, adapt, and grow as industries change.

Perez highlighted another important factor: execution. In a competitive job market where employers review countless applications, being dependable, accountable, and capable of delivering results can set candidates apart.

Beyond technical knowledge, qualities such as communication, problem-solving, adaptability, and continuous learning are becoming increasingly valuable in the workplace.

The discussion served as a reminder that career success is not always about having a fixed destination from the start. Rather, it comes from developing the mindset and abilities needed to navigate new opportunities and challenges.

For Enderun’s graduating Class of 2026, the annual gathering became more than a pre-graduation tradition. It offered a reflection on building careers that can withstand change — through resilience, meaningful connections, and a commitment to always grow.
