Pag-IBIG Fund’s gross housing-related assets have surpassed ₱1 trillion as the agency expanded financing for Filipinos buying, building and improving homes.
The state-run fund said its housing-related assets reached ₱1.01 trillion as of 31 July 2026, of which ₱971.39 billion, or about 96 percent, consisted of housing-related loans. Another ₱38.47 billion comprised other housing-related assets.
Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling, who chairs the Pag-IBIG Fund Board of Trustees, said the milestone reflects the fund’s role in expanding homeownership and supporting the housing industry.
“Reaching more than ₱1 trillion in housing-related assets is an important milestone. It means more financing is reaching Filipino homebuyers, while qualified developers and institutions receive greater support to provide housing,” Aliling said.
Pag-IBIG is required to invest at least 70 percent of its investible funds in housing, allowing members’ pooled savings to finance home purchases and housing development.
Housing and wholesale loan releases also climbed to ₱88.84 billion from January to July, up 12 percent from ₱72.61 billion during the same period last year.
“This is Pag-IBIG at work. The savings of millions of Filipino workers are pooled together and put to productive use, much of it to help fellow members have homes of their own,” Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Marilene Acosta said.
Under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program, Pag-IBIG has increased its maximum housing loan to ₱10 million per borrower, payable over up to 30 years.
Qualified low-income borrowers may avail themselves of a subsidized 3 percent rate, while promotional rates of 4.5 percent for loans above the socialized housing price ceiling up to ₱4.9 million and 5.75 percent for loans above ₱4.9 million up to ₱10 million are available until 31 December 2026.
