  • The Esports World Cup has put nearly $208 million on the line in just three editions, as the high-stakes esports tournament continues to raise its prize pool since its inaugural season in 2024.

The tournament enters another milestone this year after offering a record $75 million prize pool for the 2026 season, bringing its three-year total to $207.95 million. The EWC awarded $62.5 million in 2024 and increased the purse to $70.45 million in 2025 before reaching this year's record figure.

Across the three editions, the EWC has also expanded its competitive slate, from 22 games and 23 tournaments in 2024 to 24 games and 25 tournaments in 2025 and 2026.

Team Falcons, who is a prominent Saudi Arabian esports organizations, has been the biggest beneficiary of the EWC's Club Championship so far, winning the inaugural title in 2024 and successfully defending it in 2025. The Saudi Arabian organization earned $7 million for each championship, pocketing at least $14 million from the Club Championship alone across the first two editions.

The EWC was established under the Esports World Cup Foundation as part of Saudi Arabia’s broader Vision 2030 initiative, with support from the country’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Led by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the country has positioned esports as part of its growing sports and entertainment industry, with the EWC emerging as one of its biggest international events.

The tournament has also attracted significant commercial investment. According to Esports World Cup Foundation Chief Commercial Officer Mohammed Al Nimer, the organization generated more than $120 million in sponsorship revenue for the 2025 event.

The figures highlight the growing commercial value of esports, as major tournaments continue to attract sponsorships, investments and substantial prize pools while expanding their reach across the global sports industry.
