  • The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has suspended the driver's license of a National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) employee who allegedly threatened a traffic enforcer with a gun during a road dispute.

The incident began when an LTO officer cited a vehicle driven by the NBI staff member's child for illegal parking along a national highway.

Reports disclosed that the driver refused orders to move to a designated parking area and presented an identification badge from a national government agency.

The driver's father later arrived in a pickup truck, identified himself as NBI personnel and challenged the enforcer's authority before threatening him with a firearm.

An LTO investigation also revealed that the father's vehicle was equipped with unauthorized emergency blinkers.

The agency issued a show-cause order requiring the NBI employee to explain his conduct and submit relevant documentation.

He faces potential charges for improper operation of a motor vehicle and the illegal use of emergency blinkers, which carry penalties up to permanent license revocation.

The LTO has placed the employee's driver's license under a 90-day administrative suspension while formal proceedings continue.
