Manila gets two wildly different stage experiences this October and November as Cirque Alice and The Play That Goes Wrong take over The Theatre at Solaire.
First up is the Manila premiere of Cirque Alice from 16–25 October 2026, bringing Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland to the stage through acrobatics, aerial performances, contortion, puppetry, music, comedy and theatrical storytelling.
Then comes The Play That Goes Wrong from 6–22 November 2026, the Olivier and Tony Award-winning comedy from London’s Mischief. Its murder mystery goes spectacularly off the rails as collapsing sets, disappearing props, forgotten lines and other mishaps turn theatrical disaster into slapstick comedy.
It’s essentially Wonderland versus everything going wrong — one built to make audiences marvel, the other to make them laugh at a stage falling apart.
Inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, the two-hour production combines circus artistry and theatrical storytelling, with aerialists, acrobats, contortionists, puppetry, musical and comedic artists, and remixed classical music.
Presented by GMG Productions in association with Tim Lawson and Simon Painter, Cirque Alice runs 16–25 October at The Theatre at Solaire.
The Mischief production follows an amateur theatre company whose murder mystery performance descends into chaos. Collapsing scenery, vanishing props and forgotten lines are all part of the joke.
The Olivier and Tony Award winner has played across the West End, Broadway and more than 50 countries.
The Play That Goes Wrong runs 6–22 November at The Theatre at Solaire.
Carlos Candal, founder and CEO of GMG Productions, said the two shows were deliberately chosen for how different they are.
“Cirque Alice is a breathtaking modern theatrical spectacle combining astonishing acrobatics, aerial performances, stunning visuals and the magical world of Alice in Wonderland,” he said.
Meanwhile, The Play That Goes Wrong offers “brilliant slapstick comedy with perfectly choreographed chaos, spectacular physical comedy and nonstop laughs from beginning to end.”
Candal also noted that Harry Potter: A Yule Ball Celebration will run simultaneously at The Space at Solaire, adding another production to the company’s upcoming season.
