Drag artist M1ss Jade So has shared the deeply personal meaning behind her latest creative look, revealing a visual story rooted in resilience, spirituality and self-discovery.

In a Facebook post, the drag performer described the concept as an interpretation of the ancient babaylan, reimagined through a contemporary Filipiniana silhouette and modern spiritual symbolism.

According to M1ss Jade So, every element of the ensemble reflects a chapter of her own journey. The Capiz shells symbolize her exit from “Drag Race Philippines” Season 2, recalling the moment she disappeared behind the shells during her elimination before entering what she described as “the void.”

She reflected on spending the past three years navigating personal struggles and searching for her true path.

“I managed to go out from the void to search for my home vortexa. I know im from the vortexa but i lost my way home, now i am seeking for answers,” she wrote.

The look also incorporates an evil eye motif, which she said represents the protection she gained while overcoming life’s challenges.

“The evil eye is what i learned to acquire during the years in the void to mirror anyone who will bring bad energy during my way.”

She added that becoming a spiritual guide begins with personal healing.

“In order for me to be a spiritual leader, shaman or healer, i must heal myself from the challenges i faced in the void.”

Small wings attached to the design symbolize hope and transformation, representing the day she can fully embrace her purpose.

“The little wings are awaiting to grow and be able to fly. In that matter, i would be able to reach, see the path to the vortexa, and spread light to humanity.”

Ending her reflection with a thought that resonated with many of her followers, M1ss Jade So wondered whether her connection to the babaylan transcends the present.

“Maybe im one of the babaylans who reincarnated in this lifetime?”
