Tourist drivers in the municipality of San Juan completed a two-day seminar designed to enhance their road safety knowledge and customer service skills, strengthening their role in providing quality experiences for visitors.
The Tourist Driver Seminar, held on 8 to 9 July 2026, was organized by the Department of Tourism Region 1 (DOT Region 1) in partnership with the Municipal Government of San Juan.
The training covered traffic laws, defensive driving, and familiarization with San Juan's major tourist destinations. Participants also attended sessions on the Department of Tourism's Filipino Brand of Service Excellence, including the G.U.E.S.T. and H.E.A.R.T. service methods, which emphasize professionalism, hospitality, effective communication, and customer care.
Through lectures and practical discussions, the participants were equipped with skills to better address visitors' needs and handle various situations they may encounter while serving tourists.
San Juan Mayor Mariquita Padua Ortega thanked the drivers for their contribution to the municipality's tourism industry, noting that they are often among the first people visitors meet upon arriving in the town.
She also urged the participants to apply the lessons from the seminar by continuing to provide safe transportation, quality service, and the warm hospitality for which San Juan is known.
