The Federation of Philippine Industries (FPI) has commended the Bureau of Customs (BOC) for its outstanding performance and continued efforts to strengthen customs administration and support national development.

In a letter addressed to BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno, FPI Chairperson Elizabeth Lee praised the Bureau's "outstanding performance and landmark achievements," describing the BOC as "a shining example of grit, resilience, and exemplary public service" amid prevailing economic challenges.

The Federation recognized the Bureau's sustained accomplishments in border protection, customs modernization, trade facilitation, and institutional reforms, noting that these initiatives have strengthened border security, improved the ease of doing business, and enhanced the country's global competitiveness.

FPI also commended the Bureau's strong revenue performance, highlighting that both its June 2026 collections and cumulative first-half collections exceeded their respective targets, reflecting the agency's continued contribution to national development.

The Federation likewise welcomed the reinstatement of its industry technical experts' office, describing it as a step toward closer government-industry collaboration in strengthening goods valuation, combating fraud, and promoting fair trade.

Nepomuceno welcomed the recognition, emphasizing that the Bureau's accomplishments are the result of the collective efforts of Customs personnel and the continued cooperation of stakeholders.

"We are grateful for the Federation of Philippine Industries' recognition and continued partnership with the Bureau of Customs. This affirmation inspires us to further strengthen our commitment to protecting our borders, facilitating legitimate trade, and delivering quality public service," Nepomuceno said.

"We firmly believe that meaningful reforms are best achieved through close collaboration between government and industry, and we will continue working together to build a more efficient, transparent, and globally competitive customs administration," the BOC chief added.
