Three individuals were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations in La Union, with police confiscating a total of about two grams of suspected illegal drugs worth an estimated ₱13,600 based on standard drug pricing.
In the first operation, personnel of the City of San Fernando Police Station arrested a 37-year-old unemployed married man known by the alias “Bossing” during a buy-bust operation in the City of San Fernando on 15 June.
The operation, conducted with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 1 and other police units, resulted in the seizure of around one gram of suspected illegal drugs contained in three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets.
Police also recovered a red cigarette, a small white paper, a black Samsung Galaxy A12 mobile phone, a gray Honda Click motorcycle, a genuine ₱500 bill, and a counterfeit ₱1,000 bill allegedly used during the transaction.
In a separate operation before dawn on July 16 in Tubao, police arrested two male suspects, aged 23 and 31, both residents of the municipality.
The operation was led by the Tubao Municipal Police Station, in coordination with PDEA Regional Office 1 and other police units.
Authorities seized another one gram of suspected illegal drugs packed in three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, with an estimated standard drug price of ₱6,800. A black Vivo mobile phone and a genuine ₱1,000 bill used as buy-bust money were also recovered.
Police said the marking and inventory of seized evidence in both operations were conducted at the scene in the presence of the suspects and required witnesses, in compliance with legal procedures.
The arrested individuals are expected to face charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
