A 37-year-old man wanted for murder was arrested during the service of a warrant in Sitio Andarayan, Barangay Rizal, Alicia, Isabela, early Wednesday, 15 July.
Police identified the suspect only by the alias "Noli," a married, unemployed resident of Alicia, Isabela.
According to the Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2), the operation was conducted at around 2 a.m. by the Tracker Team of the Cauayan Component City Police Station, in coordination with the Alicia Municipal Police Station and other units of the Isabela Police Provincial Office.
Authorities served a warrant of arrest issued on 14 July by the Regional Trial Court Branch 40 in Cauayan City for a murder case. The warrant carried no recommended bail.
Police said the suspect was considered armed and dangerous, prompting the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team of the Cauayan Component City Police Station to execute a tactical approach that led to his arrest without incident.
During the operation, authorities also seized four sachets containing suspected illegal drugs weighing about one kilogram with an estimated standard drug price of P6.8 million.
Recovered from the suspect were an Armscor shotgun loaded with five 12-gauge cartridges, an Armscor caliber .45 pistol, assorted live ammunition, a hand grenade, a plastic replica grenade, a bolo, two glass tube pipes, two digital weighing scales, cash, and other items believed to be linked to illegal drug activities.
The suspect was taken to the Cauayan Component City Police Station for documentation and proper disposition, while the suspected illegal drugs and other seized evidence will undergo laboratory examination.
Authorities have yet to announce whether additional charges will be filed in connection with the suspected illegal drugs, firearms, and explosives recovered during the operation.
