More than P1 million worth of suspected shabu was seized from a suspected drug dealer during a high-stakes buy-bust operation in Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City early Tuesday morning.
Operatives from the Parañaque City Police Station's Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the buy-bust operation around 12:20 a.m. along Los Angeles Street in this barangay.
The mission targeted a 27-year-old suspect who was apprehended immediately after selling illegal narcotics to an undercover officer, confirming his direct involvement in the illicit trade.
During the search, authorities recovered a substantial haul consisting of approximately 150 grams of suspected shabu, which carries an estimated standard drug price of P1,020,000.
Also seized from the suspect were five grams of shabu used in the transaction, three large knot-tied plastic bags containing 140 grams, and an additional five-gram sachet, undetermined amount of marked money and a pouch.
The suspect is currently detained while police prepare formal charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The case is now undergoing rigorous processing at the Parañaque City Prosecutor’s Office as investigators work to identify further links to the suspect’s distribution network.
