A new modernized Orani Fish Landing and Trading Facility was officially opened on 1 July 2026 in the town of Orani, Bataan, providing fisherfolk, traders, and buyers with a cleaner, safer, and more efficient venue for fish trading.
According to the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP), the Orani Fish Landing and Trading Facility is recognized as the largest and most modern fish port in the province.
“The facility is expected to strengthen Orani's position as a major trading hub for both freshwater and saltwater products while helping revive its long-standing reputation as one of the region's key fishing centers,” DA-PRDP stated.
The new fish port provides the local government a platform to gauge market activity, higher investments, and expanded business opportunities that will directly benefit local fisherfolk, vendors, and fish traders, with buyers from other areas travelling to Orani to buy produce such as mud crabs and shrimp.
Funded through the DA-PRDP, in partnership with the Provincial Government of Bataan and the Municipal Government of Orani, the P184-million infrastructure subproject was established to improve post-harvest handling and provide a modern trading environment that supports the growing needs of the local fisheries industry.
“Beyond providing a dedicated marketplace, the facility is envisioned to reduce post-harvest losses, improve product quality, and create better income opportunities for fishing communities by connecting them to a wider network of buyers,” the DA-PRDP stated.
Located in Barangay Pantalan Bago, the Orani Fish Landing and Trading Facility is now open to buyers and traders, with trading activities beginning daily at 3:00pm.
