
An automotive technician was arrested after authorities seized approximately 0.8 gram of suspected shabu worth an estimated ₱5,440 during a buy-bust operation in Barangay 5, Davila, Pasuquin on Wednesday, 8 July.
The suspect was identified by police as Greggy Madrid y Macaganda, 38, single, and a resident of Barangay 5, Davila.
The operation, conducted from 11:20 a.m. to 2 p.m., was led by the Pasuquin Municipal Police Station in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 1.
Also involved in the operation were the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office, the PDEA Provincial Intelligence Team–Ilocos Norte, the Regional Intelligence Unit 1, the Provincial Intelligence Unit, the Regional Intelligence Division of the Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office and Police Regional Office 1, and the 1st Ilocos Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company.
Authorities said the operation resulted in the arrest of the suspect and the confiscation of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of ₱5,440.
The recovered evidence was turned over for proper documentation and laboratory examination, while the suspect remains in police custody.
He is expected to face charges for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
