Makati residents will have access to discounted food and P20-per-kilo rice when the Kadiwa ng Pangulo community market opens in Barangay Poblacion on 16 February.
The market is scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the corner of F. Zobel and Osmeña streets, the local government announced Monday.
Mayor Nancy Binay said the event will offer a variety of affordable goods, including fresh fruits, vegetables, and frozen meat products. The program is designed to provide local farmers with a direct marketplace while offering residents a reprieve from higher commercial prices.
A key feature of the market is the availability of rice priced at P20 per kilo. This specific offer is reserved for qualified beneficiaries, including holders of Makati’s white and blue cards, persons with disabilities and registered solo parents.
