Eric of The Boyz caught the attention of fans worldwide after posting handwritten New Year letters on 01 January 2026.
The twist: the letters were written in different languages.
The 25-year-old artist moved away from the usual English-only greetings commonly shared by K-pop idols. Instead, he uploaded a total of seven handwritten letters in Korean, English, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Malaysian, and Filipino.
Eric shared that he wrote the letters specifically for their Filipino, Malaysian, and Thai fans after the group’s planned tours in those countries were canceled.
He later left the letters at the love locks area of Seoul Tower, where he also placed a padlock bearing the messages “The B ❤️ The Boyz Eric” and “Always remember Eric ❤️ U.”
