International pop girl group KATSEYE has officially been crowned as TikTok’s Global Artist of the Year for 2025, capping a successful year that saw the sextet dominate social media, streams, trends, and charts worldwide. The announcement came as part of TikTok’s annual Year in Music recap, which celebrates the artists, songs, and moments that shaped the platform over the past 12 months.
Since their 2024 debut, the group, comprised of Yoonchae, Manon Bannerman, Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, and the Philippines’ very own Sophia Laforteza, has generated over 30 billion views and inspired 12 million user-created videos, cementing their influence across borders. Their hit single Gnarly sparked multiple viral trends, while Gabriela ignited a dance craze that reached audiences around the globe.
Beyond TikTok, the group made waves on traditional charts: Gabriela peaked at No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100, and their sophomore EP BEAUTIFUL CHAOS debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. This commercial and viral success also earned them Grammy nods for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
“We had an unforgettable year on TikTok, and it was all because of the EYEKONS who showed up for us every single day,” KATSEYE said in a statement. “You turned our songs, our moments, and our chaos into something truly global, and we are so grateful for this community.”
The 2025 recap also delivered surprises. Connie Francis’ 1962 track Pretty Little Baby topped the global and U.S. charts, proving TikTok’s uncanny power to resurrect classic songs for a new generation. Jess Glynne’s Hold My Hand ranked second worldwide, and Doechii’s Anxiety was declared the most impactful music trend of the year. TikTok also recognized Taylor Swift as the Global Most-Saved Artist, sombr’s back to friends as the Most-Saved Track, and Tate McRae’s So Close To What as the Most-Saved Album, with EJAE named Songwriter of the Year.
