The Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) has arrested the logistics provider of the Daulah Islamiyah–Maute Group (DI-MG) during a joint law enforcement operation at Barangay Angandog, in Baloi, Lanao del Norte, on 6 November 2025.
According to the PRO10, the suspect known as alias Lucky 9, was arrested by virtue of three warrants of arrest for Kidnapping for Ransom (Criminal Case No. 20-23823, no bail recommended); Frustrated Murder (Criminal Case No. 11214, P200,000 bail recommended); and Violation of R.A. 10591 (Criminal Case No. 18-22142, no bail recommended).
The 56-year-old suspect and resident of Baloi, was a former leader of a Kidnap-for-Ransom Group (KFRG) before shifting allegiance to the DI-Maute Group as a logistics provider responsible for procuring firearms, medicines, and food supplies to sustain terrorist operations in Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur and neighboring provinces.
Recovered from his possession were an M14 rifle, six 7.62mm magazines with 125 rounds of live ammunition, an M1911 .45-caliber pistol, a Baofeng handheld radio, and other paraphernalia used to support the group’s armed activities.
He was also linked to several high-profile kidnapping incidents in 2013 and 2014 and was listed as a Most Wanted Person by the Anti-Kidnapping Group.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Baloi Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition.
PRO10 Acting Regional Director Police Brigadier General Christopher N. Abrahano said that the arrest of Lucky 9 marks a significant operational breakthrough that will cripple the logistical and recruitment networks of the Daulah Islamiyah–Maute Group not only in Northern Mindanao but also in nearby provinces.
