Truck driver, helper injured as vehicle rams tree in Olongapo

A truck driver and his helper were badly injured after their truck lost control and rammed a tree at Barangay Old Cabalan, Olongapo City, Zambales, on 3 November 2025.

According to witnesses, a truck loaded with hazardous materials lost control and rammed parked vehicles in the area before hitting a tree that stopped its momentum.

The truck driver and the helper were both pinned by the vehicle and were rescued by the Olongapo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) and the Old Cabalan Rescue Team. The two were immediately taken to the hospital.

The Olongapo City Traffic Management is conducting an investigation into the incident.

Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. personally inspected the trailer truck at the Transcon Compound in Old Cabalan. The official ordered the DRRMO, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the OTMPS to conduct clearing and containment operations in the area.
