CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Two men were apprehended during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Calero, Orani, Bataan, on Sunday evening, 19 October, after allegedly selling suspected shabu to an undercover officer. Authorities confiscated 20 grams of the illegal drug, valued at P136,000.
Acting on a tip, joint operatives from the Orani Municipal Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit (MPS-DEU) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 3 launched the sting operation at 9:10 p.m. After one suspect handed a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer, police moved in to arrest both individuals. A subsequent search yielded four additional sachets, bringing the total seized to 20 grams.
The suspects, whose identities remain undisclosed pending formal charges, are detained at the Orani MPS custodial facility. Cases for violations of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession) under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared.
The operation aligns with the Philippine National Police’s intensified anti-drug campaign under Acting Chief PNP Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr.
Bataan Police Provincial Director PCol. Marites A. Salvadora pledged continued operations to dismantle drug networks in the province, emphasizing zero tolerance for illegal activities.
