Lapid backs dredging as flood solution in Pampanga

Senator Lito Lapid continued relief operations for residents affected by flooding in several towns in Pampanga.
Thousands of families received food packs as high water levels persisted in vulnerable areas.
Senator Lapid identified systematic river dredging as the primary and permanent solution to recurring severe flooding throughout Central Luzon.
“The Pampanga River needs to be dredged because it has become too shallow, causing water from Manila Bay to backflow. Our fellow citizens in Bulacan, Pampanga, and Nueva Ecija—who frequently suffer from flooding—are in a pitiful situation. Dredging is truly the answer," he said.
"It’s like putting ice into a glass that is about to overflow; if you remove the ice, the water level drops and the depth is restored.” he added.
Almost 2,000 families in Sasmuan and Guagua were given food packs whole 4,000 family food packs were provided to residents of Minalin, Macabebe, Masantol and Candaba, Pampanga.
