PSE and S&P Global spearhead sustainability forum for business leaders

The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) and S&P Global jointly held the inaugural thought leadership event dubbed, The Business Case for Corporate Sustainability on October 2, 2025 at The Westin Manila in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City.
The event gathered Philippine corporates to tackle the benefits of sustainability and how it can be incorporated into business strategy for strengthened company resilience, technological innovation, and deeper stakeholder engagement.
PSE President and CEO Mr. Ramon Monzon and Institute of Corporate Directors, Inc. Chairperson Atty. Benedicta Du-Baladad delivered the keynote addresses, which highlighted sustainability as a core principle that needs to be strategically integrated into the organization's strategy, operations, and culture rather than view it as a mere compliance requirement.
For PSE's part, Mr. Monzon reiterated the Exchange's commitment to reduce its absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 54.6 percent by 2033, from a 2023 base year. Additionally, for the first time, Mr. Monzon formally announced that the PSE is aiming for a 54.6 percent reduction in absolute Scope 3 emissions within the same 10-year timeline. He also mentioned that, in these early stages of the process, the teams in charge of data collection are already seeing opportunities for cost-savings and improved operational efficiency.
