Immigration authorities have arrested two foreign nationals in separate operations in Cavite and Cebu City on charges of overstaying and violating immigration laws, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) announced Friday.
The first suspect, identified as 39-year-old Baljit Singh Doel, an Indian national, was apprehended on 3 October in Diamond Biclatan, Holiday Homes in General Trias, Cavite.
BI Intelligence Division chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. said Doel was found to be undocumented and had been overstaying in the country. Authorities also found no record of his legal arrival in the Philippines.
In a separate operation on 7 October, a 40-year-old Chinese national, Jianshan Xu, was arrested at a store in Ermita, Cebu City. The operation was a joint effort by the BI, the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Carbon Police Station.
