Veteran director Francis 'Jun' Posadas passes away

Veteran filmmaker Francis “Jun” Posadas passed away Tuesday, 12 August.

His death was confirmed by his daughter, Susan Kelly Posadas, in a Facebook post of his photo with this caption:  “Direk Francis Jun Posadas packed up. I love you so much, my father.” 

Later, in an online interview with Jojo Gabinete for PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), the director's daughter recalled what happened:  “Natumba lang po siya, mga 8:30 a.m. po. Nagbebenta pa siya sa tindahan, bigla siyang bumagsak (He just fell, around 8:30 A.M. He was selling  at the store, he suddenly fell)."

Her father was rushed to the nearby hospital but it was already too late.

“Malapit lang kami sa ospital pero wala na siyang pulso pagdating namin sa Our Lady of Pillar Hospital, Imus, Cavite. Nag-try po na i-revive siya ng 30 minutes pero wala na po siya talaga (We're near the hospital but he was without a pulse when we reach Our Lady of Pillar Hospital, Imus, Cavite),” she recalled.

Posadas is known for his action and bold films like Itlog, Kaulayaw, Kerida,  Cordora: Lulutang Ka sa Sarili Mong Dugo, Ambush, Bawal Na Gamot, Babayaran Mo ng Dugo, Ganti ng Puso and Sige, Subukan Mo.
