The Manila International Film Festival has announced that Lea Salonga will be among the honorees in the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2026, recognizing her contributions to theater, film, and music on the global stage.
Salonga, a Tony Award winner and internationally acclaimed performer, is widely known for her groundbreaking work in Miss Saigon, as the singing voice of Disney princesses Jasmine and Mulan, and for her numerous roles on Broadway and West End stages. Over the years, she has become a leading figure in championing Asian representation in Western entertainment.
Her upcoming star on Hollywood Boulevard will highlight not only her artistic achievements but also her role in opening doors for Filipino and Asian performers worldwide.
“This honor is not just for me,” Salonga once said. “It’s for every artist who dared to believe they belong.”
The recognition is set to place her among a select group of global artists whose names are immortalized on one of the most iconic sidewalks in the world.
