
Lubao, Pampanga — A total of 1,815 residents from the town of Sasmuan have received P10.2 million worth of assistance from the Provincial Government after being adversely affected by the recent typhoons last year.
The distribution was led by Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and was held at the Sasmuan Covered Court and the PAGCOR Building in Barangay Sta. Catalina, Lubao.
The P10.2 million in assistance provided to the 1,815 Sasmueños was distributed through the Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), with each beneficiary receiving P5,625.
According to Governor Piñeda, the initiative was made possible by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, and Defense Secretary and NDRRMC Chair Gilbert Teodoro, with the support of the PSWDO, the Sasmuan LGU, and barangay officials.
The governor also assured that, aside from the financial assistance, the Nanay Partylist will cover medical treatment expenses, especially for those with serious illnesses.
Meanwhile, the vice governor guaranteed that all residents of Sasmuan will have access to free medical services at the Escolastica Romero District Hospital in Lubao, as well as in other public hospitals in the province.
Sasmuan Mayor Catalina Cabrera, Board Members Fritzie David Dizon, Sajid Khan Eusoof, and Atty. Claire Lim were present during the distribution.
