Celebrity dance showdown takes centerstage

A thrilling new era in Filipino dance entertainment is about to unfold.

GMA Network officially unveils Stars on the Floor, the country’s newest and biggest dance reality competition, set to premiere on 28 June.

Bringing together 10 dynamic celebrity-digital star duos, the show promises a dazzling mix of choreography, charisma and fierce competition all under the watchful eyes of a powerhouse panel known as The Dance Authority.

In this all-star competition, celebrities from film, television and social media partner with rising dance content creators to deliver heart-pounding performances every week. The goal? To impress the judges, win the crowd, and claim the title of the very first Stars on the Floor Grand Winner.

Guiding the rhythm of the competition is none other than Asia’s Multimedia Star, Alden Richards, who brings his signature charm and energy as host. With high-stakes eliminations, themed challenges, and explosive collaborations, Stars on the Floor is set to redefine what it means to move and entertain.

Meet the dance authority

Anchoring the show is an exceptional panel of judges, each bringing a distinct voice and expertise to the dance floor.

Marian Rivera, GMA’s Primetime Queen and a dance enthusiast herself, leads the panel with an eye for emotion and authenticity. “I want to see heart and connection, something that moves beyond steps and speaks to the soul,” she said.

Pokwang, beloved comedienne and former professional dancer, injects the panel with humor and heart. For her, performance is about impact: “Gusto ko ‘yung sumasayaw pero may kwento. ‘Yung napapasaya mo ang manonood. ‘Yun ang panalo (I like the ones that dance but have a story. When you make the audience happy. That’s the winner).”

Jay Joseph Roncesvalles, renowned choreographer behind SB19’s viral hits, completes the trio with technical precision and creative edge. He said, “I’m watching for synchronization, innovation, and that wow factor. Every move has to hit.”

Together, the three form a dynamic force tasked with mentoring, critiquing and ultimately deciding which pair has what it takes to rise to the top.
