The Philippine National Police (PNP)’s Directorate for Comptrollership will now be headed by Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo, formerly the regional director of Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-3), effective Friday, 20 June.

Fajardo’s appointment comes as part of a broader reshuffle of senior police officials under the leadership of PNP Chief General Nicolas Torre III.

In her new role, Fajardo will assist the Office of the Chief PNP in overseeing and managing the organization’s financial resources. She replaces Police Major General Neil Alinsañgan, who has been designated as the new head of the Area Police Command–Eastern Mindanao.

Taking over her former post, Police Brigadier General Rogelio Peñones will serve as officer-in-charge of PRO-3.

Fajardo made history in January 2024 when she was appointed as the first female regional director of PRO-3, succeeding Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan.

She has previously held several key leadership positions, including provincial director of Pampanga, chief of the Regional Intelligence Division of PRO-Central Luzon, and chief of police in the City of San Fernando and Lubao town in Pampanga.

Fajardo also currently serves as the spokesperson for the Philippine National Police, though it remains unclear whether she will retain the spokesperson role alongside her new assignment.

She is a member of PNPA Class of 1996 and earned her law degree from Jose Rizal University. She passed the Bar in 2009.
