A 45-year-old man arriving from Dubai was arrested on 11 June at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 after authorities discovered an outstanding arrest warrant for violating the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act.
In a statement released Thursday, the Philippine National Police - Aviation Security Group (PNP-AVSEGROUP) said the suspect, a resident of Parañaque City, was intercepted by Bureau of Immigration officers upon arrival.
“System checks confirmed an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Pasay City Regional Trial Court for a violation of Republic Act No. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act), with a court-recommended bail of P72,000,” the PNP-AVSEGROUP said.
Airport police coordinated with the Manila Police District’s Warrant Section to enforce the arrest. The suspect is now in the custody of the Intelligence and Warrant Section of Police Station 11 in Manila for processing.
