With Court of Tax Appeals Justice Roman G. Del Rosario set to retire in October, the Judicial and Bar Council has opened the application process to fill the soon-to-be vacant seat.

Justice Del Rosario, who currently serves as Presiding Justice of the CTA, will reach the mandatory retirement age of 70 on 6 October 2025.

In a formal announcement, the JBC invited qualified individuals to apply or be recommended for the post. The application process is fully digital, with all submissions to be made through the JBC Online Registration Application System (JBC ORAS) via the Philippine Judiciary Platform.

Applicants must complete their online submissions by 4:30 p.m. on 21 July 2025 (Monday). The JBC emphasized that all applications will undergo screening and verification to ensure completeness and accuracy, including all required documents.

The opening of applications marks the start of a selection process that will determine the next justice to help lead the Court of Tax Appeals, a key institution in resolving tax-related disputes and cases.

Justice Del Rosario has served in the judiciary for decades and has been known for his work in strengthening the CTA’s role in upholding tax laws and fiscal responsibility.
