Anti-narcotics operatives of the Eastern Police District (EPD) arrested a high-value individual ranked number 5 at the regional level during a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Palatiw, Pasig City, on Tuesday morning.
The 67-year-old suspected drug peddler, identified only by the alias “Logan,” is a caretaker and resident of Barangay Palatiw, Pasig City.
The buy-bust operation was prompted by a pre-operation and coordination report on the suspect’s alleged involvement in illegal drug activities at the given address. Operatives immediately conducted surveillance and validation, which confirmed the credibility of the information. This led to the buy-bust operation that resulted in the suspect’s arrest.
Confiscated from the suspect were fifteen heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, weighing approximately 25 grams, with a standard drug price of P170,000.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the suspect before the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office.
The suspect is currently detained at the Pasig City Police Station custodial facility while pertinent documents are being prepared for inquest proceedings.
