Five individuals were arrested by personnel of the San Mateo Municipal Police Station following a buy-bust operation in Barangay Silangan, San Mateo, Rizal on Saturday morning, 24 January 2026.
The arrested individuals were identified only by their aliases as Gama, 34; Ninay, 25; Bebe, 27; Bebang, 18; and Jomar, 29.
Seized from the suspects were four heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 58.1 grams, with a standard drug price of P395,080.
The suspects and the confiscated evidence were brought to the San Mateo Municipal Police Station for documentation and were submitted to the Rizal Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the suspects before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor in Taytay, Rizal.
Rizal police provincial director Police Colonel Feloteo Gonzalgo commended the swift action of the San Mateo Municipal Police Station and said the intensified campaign against illegal drugs will continue to ensure public safety and peace in the province.
