Squid Game, Netflix’s number one non-English language series of all time, will be back on our screens on 27 June.

In a trailer released during Tudum, the players are seen returning to the games after their failed rebellion. Seong Gi Hun, along with the others, are thrust into new deadlier games.

“The new season will focus on what Gi Hun can and will do after all his efforts fail,” series creator Hwang Dong Hyuk said.

The trailer also confirms the comeback of Young-hee — the terrifying doll whose all-seeing eyes lord over Red Light, Green Light — for an all-new round of play.

The short clip teased the possible face-to-face meeting of Gi Hun and the Front Man.

“He is in utter despair after losing everything and watching all his efforts go in vain,” Hwang added. “The story then takes an interesting turn, questioning whether Gi-hun can overcome his shame and rise again to prove that values of humanity — like conscience and kindness — can exist in the arena.”

Front Man’s brother, Jun Ho, resumes his search for him in the island. He remains unaware that there’s a traitor in their midst.
