Vice Ganda reminds viewers what real friendship looks like

In true “Unkabogable” fashion, Vice Ganda once again showed that real friendships are built not only on shared laughter but also on honesty and difficult conversations.

In a recent vlog that began as a lighthearted bonding session with close friends and fellow It’s Showtime hosts, Vice Ganda found himself in an emotional exchange with comedian MC Calaquian. The vlog took a serious turn when MC asked Vice, “Sino ang ayaw mong mapanaginipan?” Without hesitation, Vice pointed at MC — triggering an open discussion on group dynamics, bad habits, and the value of time with friends.

“Naiinis ako,” Vice candidly admitted, recalling a recent beach getaway. He shared his frustration over MC’s tendency to retreat to his room for naps or long showers, leaving the group waiting and missing out on shared experiences.

“’Pag may rampa kayong grupo, ano mararamdaman n’yo kung ‘yung kasama n’yo papasok sa kwarto tapos lalabas kung kailan lang niya bet?” Vice asked, clearly disappointed by the recurring pattern.

MC, visibly shaken and teary-eyed, explained his side. “Lagi ko kasing gusto ipakita ‘yung best ko sa’yo ‘pag kasama kita,” he said. “Bakit sa amin lahat, kay Lassy, ako ‘yung madalas mong napapagalitan?” His emotional response revealed the pressure he felt to meet Vice’s expectations.

But Vice stood firm, stressing that his honesty stemmed from care. “Fair ba ‘yung ginagawa mo sa kasama mo?” he asked. “Kung may bonding tayong lahat, ang hirap kung lagi kang wala sa moment.”

Vice reminded MC — and their viewers — that true friends call each other out when necessary. “Mas masarap ‘yung real friends mo na keep mo hanggang sa tumanda kayo… Iyon ang magpapatunay na siguro may nagawa akong mabuti sa mundo kasi biniyayaan ako ng Diyos ng kaibigan.”
