Aktor PH launches global talent directory website

Aktor PH launches global talent directory website

In a landmark moment for Philippine entertainment, the League of Filipino Actors (Aktor PH) officially launched its long-anticipated website during its general assembly on Sunday, 18 May.

Held in the presence of its esteemed board of directors — including Chairman Dingdong Dantes, Agot Isidro, Iza Calzado, and Boots Anson-Rodrigo — the launch marks a major step in unifying and empowering the community of Filipino actors on a global scale.

Described as a “global calling card,” the Aktor PH website is envisioned as a comprehensive digital directory of Filipino performers. It features searchable profiles of members that include headshots, résumés, contact information, and filmographies — mirroring the functionalities of well-known international casting databases.

“This will serve as our global calling card because we want this to be the go-to site for casting Filipino talent, not only in our local industry but also globally,” said Dantes in his speech. “We want fellow actors to find the best opportunities it can offer. It has been a dream since day one.”

The platform is designed not only to serve casting directors and producers but also to amplify the visibility of Filipino performers in the global market. From award-winning veterans like Susan Africa, Charo Santos-Concio, and Tirso Cruz III to younger names such as Elijah Canlas and Jasmine Curtis-Smith, the website reflects the depth and range of Philippine talent.

The board of directors underscores this collective vision: Iza Calzado serves as President, Agot Isidro as Vice Chairman, Piolo Pascual as Public Affairs Director, Cherry Pie Picache as Welfare Director, Mylene Dizon as Treasurer, and Jasmine Curtis-Smith overseeing Social Media.

“This will be like our representation, not just as actors in the Philippines, but also for future purposes, like maybe for foreign outfits scouting for Filipino talent,” Dantes added in a post-assembly interview. “This page will allow them to view the whole range of Filipino actors who would fit their requirements.”

Beyond visibility, Aktor PH continues to serve its core mission: protecting and representing the welfare of Filipino performers. Officially registered as a nonprofit organization with the Securities and Exchange Commission, it has consistently advocated for improved working conditions, fair representation, and professional support systems within the entertainment industry.

With its digital expansion, Aktor PH is now better positioned than ever to elevate Filipino artistry on a global stage — one profile, one story, one performance at a time.
