Actor and entrepreneur David Licauco took a moment to pay heartfelt tribute to his grandfather, the late Jaime T. Licauco, following news of the renowned mystic and mind science pioneer’s passing.

In an Instagram post, David wrote: “The wisest man I knew — always chasing greatness, always sharing his wisdom. Thank you for the life talks, the lessons, and the power of your mind. I’ll hold them close, always. Rest easy, lolo.”

Known for his roles on screen and his ventures in business, David rarely speaks about his personal life. But this recent tribute reveals a deep bond with the man he proudly calls “Lolo Jaime”— a towering figure in Philippine mysticism and alternative thought.

Jaime T. Licauco, who passed away on 15 May at the age of 84, was a trailblazer in exploring the powers of the mind, intuition, and Filipino spiritual traditions. To many, he was a bestselling author, respected lecturer, and pioneering radio host. But to David, he was first and foremost a mentor and a guiding force in his life.

David’s father, Jolan Alexander Licauco, is the son of Jaime.

Jaime’s memorial service will be held until 19 May at Loyola Chapels, Loyola Memorial Park, Sucat, Parañaque. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on 20 May at 10 a.m. followed by interment.
