The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said it is extending assistance to an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) bound for Europe, whose four-year-old daughter was killed in a vehicle ramming incident at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1.

In a statement on Monday, the agency said it is also helping the OFW explain his absence to his employer abroad. Several of the OFW’s family members, including his wife and mother, were also involved in the incident.

“We likewise fervently pray for the fast recovery of his wife, who was also run over and is hospitalized in critical condition. We also ask for prayers of healing and safety for those affected by this very unfortunate incident, including the mother of the OFW, who was also injured but is currently out of harm’s way,” the DMW said.

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration has also reached out to the OFW following the incident on Sunday evening. Since then, the agency has been coordinating with airport authorities, hospitals and funeral homes to assist the affected families.
