Pasig mayoral candidate Sarah Discaya expressed surprise Friday at the strong support she received from the city’s workers and community residents, who held a street parade for her Thursday evening.

The supporters marched from Barangay Rosario to Barangay Bambang in a demonstration that coincided with the 123rd Labor Day celebration. They carried placards, streamers and banners bearing Discaya’s name and photo.

They also voiced their dissatisfaction with what they described as six years of neglect and unfulfilled promises by the current city government. When asked, they denied being paid to participate in the march.

Discaya expressed gratitude to them for their unwavering support, calling it a rare and unforgettable experience.

“What happened yesterday was an experience I will never forget and one that truly touched my heart — a rally organized by the Kilusang Manggagawa ng Mayo Uno in support of me and the entire Team Kaya This,” Discaya said.

“My deepest gratitude to all of you. Words cannot express my appreciation for your sacrifice and support,” she added.
