CAMP TOLENTINO, Bataan — Stepping up their campaign against crime, the Bataan police, led by Col. Marites A. Salvadora, scored another breakthrough Wednesday night with the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of illegal firearms, ammunition, and P469,000 worth of illegal drugs.

Col. Salvadora said Joven Pineda y Cabana, a resident of Barangay San Francisco 1, Limay, Bataan, was nabbed in a buy-bust operation and will face charges for violating Republic Act 10591 and the Omnibus Election Code. Authorities recovered a .38 caliber revolver with three live rounds and a .22 caliber revolver with two live rounds.

The arrest came after intelligence operatives from Limay PNP and the 2nd Mobile Group of the Bataan Provincial Police Office staged a sting operation, during which Pineda sold a .38 caliber revolver to an undercover cop. All seized items were inventoried and properly documented following the arrest, Salvadora said.

In a separate operation, police also arrested Nash Amerol of Tabing Ilog, Samal, and Abner Bautista of Calero, Orani, for violating RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act), RA 10591 (Firearms Law), and the Omnibus Election Code. Confiscated were approximately 69 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P469,200, along with a .38 caliber revolver loaded with four live rounds.
